Luella is a 22-year-old Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter. Born in NYC and growing up in the rich arts community of Woodstock, NY, she developed an unwavering dedication to music. Her sound is defined by dreamy, feminine vocals, catchy melodies, and an alternative indie/bedroom-pop production style. A natural storyteller, her evocative lyrics balance youthful wonder with introspective wisdom. She draws inspiration from the alternative female-led bands and singer-songwriters of the ’90s and early 2000s, including The Sundays, PJ Harvey, Cocteau Twins, Björk, The Cranberries, Feist, and Imogen Heap.

Shortly after graduating high school in 2021, Luella moved cross-country to Los Angeles. Accompanied by her younger brother Fionn, she began performing at intimate venues across the city, including The Echo, Gold-Diggers, and Club Tee Gee. Over the past year, she has stepped into the world of recording, working with producer-songwriter Jackson Phillips (Day Wave). Her debut single, “Naive,” is a bittersweet reflection on the kaleidoscope of emotions that arise at the end of first love. Equal parts melancholic and anthemic, “Naive” will be released on March 28th, accompanied by a music video created in collaboration with her close friends and next-gen creatives: produced by Rose Reiner, directed by Abby Collins, shot and edited by Jacob Maren, creative direction by Luella and Shi Jolie, choreography by Shi Jolie and Keoni Rose, and styling by Dree Hemingway. Lighting by Drake Barrett and Colored by Esteban Palma.

Luella’s music has been featured in American Vogue, The Observer, W Magazine, and The Cut. She has also had the privilege of recording and performing with artists including Natalie Merchant, Larry Campbell, and Gail Ann Dorsey. She has played at both New York and Paris Fashion Weeks, opening for Chloë Sevigny and Ryan Roche.

Beyond music, Luella extends her creativity into fashion and philanthropy. In 2024, she founded Loved By, a resale initiative with a purpose. Partnering with the Fifteen Percent Pledge, the debut sale directed a percentage of proceeds to support Black-owned businesses, with contributions from notable figures such as Amber Valletta, Carolyn Murphy, Laura Harrier, Aurora James, Ava DuVernay, and Dree Hemingway.
